Solar water heaters- the future of water heaters
We live in a habitat where the conventional, non-renewable resources of energy like natural gas, coal, wood, oil are dwindling, and so, there is an urgency and need for alternative ways to utilize energy for our use. Thus, powering solar water heaters are very important. Solar water heaters are rapidly becoming an increasingly cost-reductive alternative to conventional types of water heaters. They are also very convenient in usage as they can be used in any climate and weather and are governed by the energy of the sun, as an energy source, which is available free of cost to us, whereas everything else has become a commodity.
Solar heaters that are built for residential need, generally use storage tanks and containers for collection. There are two kinds of solar heating systems for heating water: these are the working (active) and dormant (passive) systems. The active system consists of circulating pumps, which controls the system, but the passive system does not embrace any such mechanism.
The active solar water heating system comprises of two types: with direct and indirect systems for circulation. The previous one is helpful in those climates and weather where it freezes rarely while the other is effective in places inclined to freezing temperatures, like cold countries. Considering for the long term, the passive water heating system is less expensive, lasts for a longer period of time, and requires low maintenance but, it is usually not so efficient contrary, to the active system.
Solar water heating systems normally have a back-up system for the solar energy, which makes it a usable item during the reduced solar energy and also, during increased demand. It is also effective in times of cloudy days.
You must decide on the system to use, considering climate conditions, reliability, budget, and household demands.
You should think and consider your geographical location before deciding on setting up solar water heaters. Your residence must get a regular amount of sunlight, which should be enough to make the system work. You should contact developing solar heater contractors to provide analysis for solar site for customer needs. Also, you need to consult if you have doubts regarding the sufficient amount of sunlight. Also, one more thing to consider is the requirement of the amount of hot water in your daily use.
